Here are some LEGO projects made by BPS students and teachers.
Ping-Pong Ball Launcher
This project was made by Huijing Wu and Eric Simoneau from Sarah Greenwood K-8 as part of the "Advanced LEGO Robotics using NXT" course in August 2009.
The launcher rotates side-to-side and tilts up-and-down, and uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect a target. Touch sensors were used to control the launch angle.
It uses a worm screw and rack to tilt the launcher up and down. Several sets of spur gears were used to launch the ball at high speed.
Here's the launcher in its raised position.
A large gear under the platform allows the launcher to rotate side-to-side.
